Watch your earning Mac from a Mac that can’t earn
Updated
Short answer: install BloomGauge on the Mac you carry, choose Watch my other Macs, and paste your earning Mac’s Phone access address. Its earnings and Pulse become the main page. Nothing is installed or run on the viewing Mac. Viewer mode is in BloomGauge beta 54 and later.
What you need
- An earning Mac with BloomGauge and Darkbloom running.
- Tailscale on both Macs, signed in to the same account (free for personal use).
Set it up
- On the earning Mac, open BloomGauge → More → Phone access and choose Enable phone access, then copy its address.
- On the other Mac, open BloomGauge. A Mac that can’t earn goes straight to Watch your earning Mac; on one that can, choose Watch my other Macs.
- Paste the address, give it a name if you like, and choose Connect.
What you see
- The earning Mac’s Earnings and Pulse, as the main page.
- Up to ten Macs in My Macs. Changes to models happen on each earning Mac.
- Settings for the viewing Mac itself stay under More.
How BloomGauge helps
BloomGauge’s viewer mode installs nothing on the viewing Mac and reaches your earning Mac only over your own Tailscale connection, with no public link.
Questions
Can I use BloomGauge on a MacBook Air?
Yes, as a viewer. An Air can’t earn with Darkbloom (it needs 48 GB+ memory), but BloomGauge on it can show your earning Mac’s earnings and Pulse over Tailscale. Viewer mode is in beta 54 and later.
Does viewer mode install Darkbloom?
No. Nothing is installed or run on the viewing Mac.
